  • Made in China: Consumer goods manufactured in Japan, Italy, and America are generally of a higher quality than goods made in China, but Chinese standards are still high, and products made there are available at low costs to American shoppers at any mall or Wal-Mart. Taking advantage of this will keep money in your wallet, and you get to take home the same merchandise anyways.
  • Ride a Bicycle: Riding a bicycle for economic reasons is becoming more popular as American’s see the advantages and benefits from this, even if you only manage to take your bike out around the neighborhood for quick errands. Starting a car up every time you have to go out becomes a quick drain on your finances. Figure out which activities and errands you can accomplish on a bicycle and go from there. Bicycles are fun and cheap to maintain. You can cover good distances and you will feel better about your health, too.
  • Prepare Your Own Food. Cooking is a little time consuming, but if you’re smart and organized about it you can save yourself a lot of money. Take one afternoon or evening out of the week and cook the entire week’s food right then. • Take a Bus To Work. Chances are, there’s a city bus that goes right past your house every morning that can take you straight to work. Bus passes are cheap and at the end of the month you will see a difference in your transportation costs.
